Enjoying
Designing the stationery for my own wedding in July 2022 in Gower, inspired me to set up my own business designing stationery for other couples. I realised how expensive professionally designed wedding stationery can be, and so wanted to set up a business with affordability in mind, where couples can have bespoke personal designs on a budget. Therefore, Sage Songbird Designs was born. The branding for my business was obvious to me; it came from my love of birds and my favourite colour sage green (which is also a beautiful wedding colour!).

About me, Hayley Jane Gemmell
Born in 1989 in the Cotswolds town of Witney in Oxfordshire, I have always loved and cared for the natural world. I describe my natural drawing abilities as my ‘autistic and dyslexic gift’ which I went on to develop further by obtaining a distinction level MA in Illustration at Falmouth University. I have an obsession with birds which is often reflected in my nature inspired designs!
Every design is hand drawn digitally using my Apple Pencil and iPad Pro tablet. I use a variety of software, including Procreate, Adobe Fresco and Adobe Illustrator to create my stationery designs.
When I am not drawing and designing, I spend time with my husband and family enjoying walks, cooking, sightseeing, travelling, running and looking after my houseplant collection and rescue pet African grey parrot, Alfie.
